CHOOSE YOUR ADVENTURE
	🌅touch path
we likely work hands-on.pleasure & arousal are welcome & invited here—our intention is to make space for them. we're likely to work with crystallized intentions, creating clear frames & agreements.
we work with methods from sexological bodywork—e.g. pleasure exploration, the wheel of consent, genital/ anal massage or mapping, self-pleasure witnessing & coaching, assisted self-pleasure, erotic ritual massage.
we work outside usual paradigms of attraction & relating. this may feel odd—and it helps us investigate. the touch can have many qualities: arousing, playful, tender, grief-ful, inquisitive.

	🌘talk pathwe likely stay hands-off.
we work with a general intention and follow what emerges. we're more likely to work with practices from generative somatics, or pieces of somatic experiencing™ (which i am a student of.)
we are more likely to provoke activation, touching on uncomfortable experiences. we connect in the cracks, facing and being with what arises—allowing your body’s natural knowing to emerge as it guides you towards wholeness & healing.
i’m there as an extension of your nervous system, to support you by slowing down & making more space to explore.
please note: these paths are not mutually exclusive, and we might alternate between them. we may start with the intention of going on one, and find ourselves on the other. i believe that our “challenging” emotions & sensations are key to accessing our pleasures & life enegy.

HOW WE WORK TOGETHER

	🌱 first earth, then human
socialised as a human being in a human-centric age, i have a tendency to prioritise human matters first and see myself as separate from the rest of life. this is part of what is making me/you/earth sick. i am learning to view myself as earth first—connected with all that's more-than-human, and i bring this invitation into our research spaces.

	👐 social & political analysis
i believe that healing can't happen without addressing and connecting with the collective, systemic & planetary aspects of a system. some things that are making me/you/earth sick started long before our lifetimes. (to truly shift those, we need to be many more bodies, connecting, caring & dreaming through a long period of time.) what we—you & me—can try and do together is be part of that wave: acknowledge our conditions, examine the ways our bodyminds usually react to them, and slowly create more possibilities to become more response-able.

🫧 protectors? let's meet them with love

there might be parts of you—and of me—who've internalised messages from oppressive systems with the hopes that this would keep us safe. for a while, it probably did. but then came another message that we are somehow not as we should be, that we should change ourselves to fit. those messages are not ours, and the parts trying to protect us by complying with them have far more important things to do. let's meet them together, with love & compassion.
🎇 your body is not a problem
your body holds the answers. the systems that have taught you&me that our bodies are the problem—capitalism, binary gender, colonialism, patriarchy—they are the problem, harming you, me and our earth~body. these systems will always encourage us to drain our energy through punching inwards, downwards and sideways. i want us to observe the water we swim in. i will tell you over & over again: your body is right just as it is.

🌊 complexity welcomethe contained environment, slowness and continuous communication we work with can allow for complex emotional states—ones that might stay hidden in other settings—to surface and be held. together, we try and come into being with these, at a pace your nervous system can process.
	🌀 being with, affecting change
how can we accept what we can't change ~ while working together to change what we can? how can we tell the difference between what is already manifested (can we be with that?) and what can be prevented? how can we be of support in a process of larger-scale transformation & systems change?

TESTIMONIALS

“In several sessions of work on my masturbation practice, em helped me define my intention and guided me through a beautiful process. Their calm presence, empathetic listening and insightful suggestions helped me shift a lifelong pattern and establish a new relationship to my pleasure.
Throughout the process I felt seen, safe, in control of the pace and nature of our work, and validated in my experiences. I recommend em to anyone wanting to work on their sexuality in a conscious way.”
—Marie“Having em’s presence in my journey of reconnecting to my body after so many years of alienation was vital.
I felt so safe and heard in all my sessions with em, and em created a wonderful container for me to safely experience my transformation. I will forever be grateful for that.”
—J“Working with em blew my mind, touched my heart and opened my body—for the potential of pleasure and
meeting my pain with curiosity, embracing it as a teacher.
emʼs support, her willingness to listen&listen&listen to me, her undogmatic approach and reassurance that whatever serves me is the right thing to do—were incredible. This truly changed my relationship with myself, and I feel so thankful for that.”

INTEGRATIONafter a session

i invite you to be gentle with yourself over the coming days.
consider giving yourself time to rest & integrate.
consider engaging in an integration practice.this can help your body~mind learn, help you apply the learnings in daily life, and allow more space for the experience to become part of a tranformation process, part of a larger arch.sometimes, this can look like recording voice messages, journaling, drawing, speaking with loved ones / therapists. at other times, it can be going into nature, suspending narratives and taking space from what we touched on for a bit. your soma knows what‘s best for you. :)

please keep in mind that some shifts—especially seismic ones—take a while to show up on the surface.

possible prompts for your integration process:

notice your sensations and feeling states after the session,
and try & trace what happened in the session.remember any distractions & challengesAND link these to the best outcomes of our session.reflect on your intention and how the session went,
with curiousity about what comes next.notice the session’s reverberations in the coming days.
if there’s anything you’d like to bring back to me—i’m here. :)

more about somatic experiencingoriginally by esmat ahmadian

somatic experiencing™
(SE) was developed by Peter Levine.
it focuses on healing trauma + chronic stress and is practiced in a one-on-one setting, mostly through conversation. movement + touch can be included.

i am currently a student of the approach (3/6 modules completed) and offer practice sessions free of charge.

below you can find a short outline of what you can expect.

your body + the tools we use
in the first sessions you can get to know how we work togetherwe will be guided by your awareness, and by small experiments in exploring what it means to be 'here', in the present momentyou can choose what you want to explore
i am here to join you in this journeywe work with what is emerging in each momentre-telling of an incident can be one option to guide a session, and we give your body a comfortable space to tell the story, too: we observe how you hold your body,
what movements want to emerge,
what sensations + emotions you notice, and what happens when they get to take up a little more space
my role is also to mind your nervous system, making sure we stay within the range of activation that is digestible for you.
if you do not want to talk about a certain topic but would still like to work with it, we can do this: it is not necessary to explore topics literally. exploring just the emotions + sensations that emerge is possible, as well.

what is trauma? an example:
imagine an animal going into a freeze state
while being chased by a predator.

by pretending to be dead,
the predator might lose interest and walk away.

once the animal comes out of the freeze state,
you can observe how it is shaking its body:
with this shaking, the nervous system completes its cycle

from (a) walking around without threat
to (b) fight/flight to (c) freeze,
back to (a) walking around without threat.

the animal can move on.

trauma is created when this 'shaking' cannot happen:
the cycle cannot complete,
the experience gets stuck in the nervous system,
impacting the nervous system's capacity
to respond appropriately in the future.

with that, SE could be seen as creating experiences for your nervous system that aid you in completing past trauma cycles.note: what if threats are on-going, und not in the past?
here we can explore if there are ways in which you could hold yourself with just a little bit more ease. the threats might stay real and present, but your nervous system might have more capacity to be here and functioning.

SLIDING SCALEenergy exchange

with the intention of making this work accessible, i work with a sliding scale, a tool that allows for several price points based on your circumstances.
€150
for those who are comfortably able to meet their basic needs:—able to pay for "wants". spend little time worried about securing necessities—a well-paid job, or access to financial savings or generational wealth—access to health care—a western passport—go on vacations annually—own property, or rent higher-end properties
€80for those who are able to meet their basic needs but have little-to-no expendable income:—have access to health care, state support and solidarity networks—sometimes afford vacation—have some expandable income (for cafés, cinema, concerts, clubs, festivals, leisure items, etc.)—can ask family members, partners or friends for financial support
	get in touch
for those who struggle to meet basic need & don’t always achieve them. —paying the full price for this session would create significant hardship—not being able to put food on the table, pay rent or transportation—suffer from multiple forms of discrimination—have debt, or support family—very unstable work / housing situations—limited/no access to health care and state support—can’t afford vacation or unplanned small expenses(sliding scale inspired by worts+cunning)

this is a solidarity system: the higher rates compensate for the lower ones. if you are able to, please give more so i can continue offering this work—in general, and to those who can’t pay the actual cost of a session.be aware: if you pay the lowest rate when you can truthfully afford the higher ones, you are limiting access to those who truly need the gift of financial flexibility.i wish for your rate to feel sustainable for both of us—allowing me to feel resourced & valued—and allowing you to come back for more sessions, as this can allowing trust to build and support your process.

i allow contradications to inform
my path & choices around money.this is an experiment. we’re figuring it out together.

i believe that transactionality is part of the problem: i offer you a service, you give me money. the exchange and the relationship between us ends.

at the same time, many / most of us don’t have access to community / relational healing.
also: healing in relationality—especially around intimacy & sexuality—can be much more complicated than it can be within a therapeutic container.

in an ideal world, i would like to offer this work as a gift and not have money involved at all.

at the same time, i’m not rich. i live under capitalism, in a city. i don’t grow my own food or produce my own electricity. i pay bills, and pay rent for the space i practice in. i pay to be held in my own processes, to be part of an association and to be supervised. i have limited physical energy.
i wish to be able to resource myself through my work so that i am able to offer it.

ABOUT EM~AMIRwho is offering?

document.getElementById('myvideo').play()

hi! i’m em~amir. i’m being a person, having a time and learning things.

i work with the body as a portal.i work with a deep wish to be of support in reclaiming our agency and em~ergent life-energy from conditioning & oppressive systems.

i offer my presence, intuition and the wisdom & ideas i've had the honor of absorbing from beloveds, em~bodied experiences, books and guides & teachers—both human & more-than-human.i’m a commitment to remembering and reminding us that we are earth.

identity soup: white, jewitch, born & raised in what i was told is israel, antizionist, (formerly a man and a trans woman, now) gender-retired, endosex, chronically ill, neurospicy, with personal experiences of trauma (individual, collective & intergenerational) and migratory background. i use em/they as my pronouns.

Certified Sexological Bodyworker through ISB Berlin (member: ACSB)Advanced student of Somatic Experiencing (more here)Graduate of The Politics of Trauma: an online course in the lineage of generative somatics, on Embodied Transformation, Social Action and Love. Trauma-Informed Plant Medicine Facilitation with Atira Taneros work inspired by Clara Teresa and Melissa Maya
Part of SKINSHIP, a touch-based place for kinship

(on certifications:i have mixed feelings about people & institutes monopolizing & commodifying techonologies — often stolen from indigenous traditions — and making them inaccessible for most humans. i don't believe sources of knowledge that offer stamps of approval are superior to others.

at the same time, i acknowledge the hard & meaningful work of devoting oneself to a lineage, a framework, a craft, over many years. i have a lot of appreciation for the wisdom that comes from a lifetime of working with bodies, experimentation, trial, error, and teaching. this is why i’m listing these here.)

🌱 moving at the pace of trust
client-led, trauma-informed and centred around your agency and pace, we focus on staying within your window of presence, allowing you to learn & expand without overwhelming your system.

	👐 hands-off or hands-on
this work can be done with clothes on, investigating boundaries and communication, safety, self- and co-regulation. this can optionally serve as preparation for bodywork, which we only get to if & when it feels safe enough.

	🫧 mindful awareness

while exploring themes that are on your heart~mind~genitals, we arrive in the present moment, bringing awareness to and observing what happens in your body: physically, emotionally, erotically and energetically. connecting the body with the mind paves new pathways, and allows agency and your capacity for pleasure to expand.

	🎇 arousal outside partnered contexts
we work outside of the paradigm of attraction, to find a state of arousal that’s free of fantasy, unfinished emotional business, religious dogma, cultural conditionings and habitual sexual behaviours. in this state, the body can become a source of confidence, love, wisdom and freedom.

	🌊 emotion-happy
the contained environment, slowness and continuous communication allow for emotions to come up and be held—ones that might stay hidden in other settings. together, we come into relationship with these at a manageable pace.
🌀 a variety of somatic inquiries
over the course of one session or more, we can work with a wide range of modalities: wheel of consent exercises ~ self-pleasure coaching ~ anal, genital & body mapping & massage ~ pleasure exploration ~ scar tissue massage. (more about what we can do together.)

who can work with me?

i offer my sessions in english ~ in berlin, or online.
everyone is welcome.
i am excited to work with people whose bodies and sexualities stand in the margins of sexual ”norms”, and specifically those with trans~inter~queer identities. a longer process can often be supportive in allowing trust & understanding to build.
though i work trauma-aware, i am not (yet) a trauma therapist. if trauma symptoms are particularly present in your everyday life, i would happily refer you to a trusted colleague who might be a better fit at this point in time.

who is giving the sessions?
hi! i’m em steinberg.
i am slow and i am soft and i take pride in those two things.
i am fascinated by the intersection of sexuality, spirituality & identity. i work with sexuality as an invitation into here & now and into interconnectedness ~ a way to reclaim agency from conditioning, assigned gender roles, implicit scripts.i believe finding pleasure can be nourishing, healing, liberating, transformative. i believe that healing can't happen without addressing & connecting with the collective, systemic and planetary aspects of a system.

some of my identities: white, assigned jewish at birth, trans femme, endosex, able-bodied, neurospicy, with personal experiences of trauma and migratory background. i use she/they/em pronouns.
i was certified as a sexological bodyworker through ISB Berlin (Institute for Somatic Education), and am a member of the EASB (European Association of Sexological Bodyworkers.) i have been very lucky to learn much of what i know about eros and holding brave spaces from Clara Tengler. i recently started a training in Somatic Experiencing, which informs my practice.besides this work, i’m a drummer and a graphic designer.

—Ludwig

a 30-minute introduction call is free.
with the intention to make this work accessible, i use a sliding scale. please take your time to look at these suggested rates and assess your rate according to your current situation:

	€66/hour
for those who are comfortably able to meet their basic needs ~ have a stable home ~ a well-paid job ~ access to health care ~ a western passport ~ access to financial savings and/or generational wealth ~ can afford vacations
	€44/hour

for those who are able to meet basic their needs most of the time ~ have an irregular housing / work situation ~ have access to health care, state support and solidarity networks ~ sometimes afford vacation ~ have some expandable income
	€11/hour
for those who are stressed about meeting basic needs, and are frequently unable to ~ have debt / support people around them ~ have very unstable work / housing situations ~ limited/no access to health care and state support ~ can’t afford vacation or unplanned small expenses

this is a solidarity system: the higher rates compensate for the lower ones.
if you have a stable source of income, please do consider giving more so i can continue offering this work to those who don't.
if your situation changes, we can gladly talk and reajust.
if you are a marginalized body and the lower rate is inaccessible to you, please do reach out ~ we can find a way to work together.

in case you cancel less than 24 hours in advance, i will ask you to pay for the session.

PREPARATIONyou’ve booked a session!
i’m looking forward to our journey together.
you are welcome exactly as you are.

if you’d like to try and arrive just a little more prepared, i invite you to try and do the following before your session...
try and get a good night's sleep.invite what you already know supports you in feeling grounded, present & engaged—a beloved object? self-touch? your favorite tea or snack? listening to music you love? co-regulation with a beloved pet or person?consider avoiding planning intense experiences right before or right after.take time to be with more-than-human beings. this could mean a walk in a forest / park, letting sunbeams kiss your skin, or hanging out with a tree / house plant.
(these suggestions are inspired by mx. gili)

session

please arrive a few minutes before the session starts.
sessions are planned for 1.5 hours. the actual duration depends on what emerges and our bodies’ needs.if possible for you, please consider leaving some time open after the session to integrate your experience.
location
i practice in my home, in Leinestr. 20, back building, 4th floor. sadly no elevator.
bell: Steinberg / Klepper
note: i co-habitate with two cats. please let me know if that’s an issue for you, and i can ventilate and turn on the air filter in advance.

cancellations
especially in my line of work, i see agency as sacred.
i understand that the possibility of cancelling commitments can help cultivate a sense of safety. at the same time, my time and energy are also sacred.
when we schedule a session, i block out time & space for the session and for mental, physical & energetic preparation. please keep that in mind, and try not to cancel with short notice unless you absolutely have to.

after a session
see INTEGRATION.

together—in trauma-informed, disability-aware and earth-centred spaces—we practice agency & liberated consent, make space for curiosity, exploration, desire, play & pleasure, and queer the normative patterns that say touch & intimacy should be saved for romantic couple dynamics. we make space for noticing conditioned tendencies & patterns, and for exploring new possibilities.
as a facilitator, i play at the intersection of sexuality, spirituality and identity. i am fascinated by containers that allow us to break apart, or melt into one ecstatic organism, and that return us to our separate selves—reorganized and transformed. in doing this work, i believe that minding each individual vessel’s identity, baggage & resilience is of utmost importance.
i am a commitment to cultivating an embodied feeling of interconnectedness. my work is about combining pieces of the portals i know—sex-possible culture, dance, improvisation, play, connection with~as earth—and accessiblizing them for my queer community. in doing that, i hope to cultivate aliveness & connection, in ways that feel sustainable & safe-enough to integrate & apply in our daily lives.
i facilitate and curate playful & generative programs with my friends at SKINSHIP. i sometimes work with Karada House.

	🍁 grief ritual
i’m part of a collective stewarding a regular grief-tending ritual in berlin, inspired by practices of the dagara people as brought to the west by sobonfu somé & malidoma patrice somé. led by rotating facilitators, so that everyone can grieve.

✨ femme, ritual, magic(with almond linden) an erotic spell for collective re-enchantment thatweaves together consent games, a potent witchy ritual and a cosmic juicy playspace. a meeting point of spirituality, sex&sensuality, ecosexuality and play for queers of all genders.

	🌾 we luv consent
inspired by dr. betty martin’s “wheel of consent”, this hands-on container offers a radical inquiry into the nature of giving and receiving, and introduces a practice whose goal is to help us get in touch with and communicate both desires & boundaries.

👐 touch~friends wow woww!!(with viiiii/soil) this is about undoing romantic & sexual relationships as THE ONLY sites of pleasureable touch and holding. it is about FRIENDSHIP MAKING ALL THE DREAMS COME TRUE. it is about inventing new words (or spells!) for our new relationships in the next world that we are building. for touchy feely friendlovers loverfriends, from all kinds of queer planets and orientations.

	🌊 self-pleasure to group-pleasure

we connect with ourselves first in a practice of embodied self-love, supported through breath, voice, movement & touch. we allow ourselves to be inspired by one another. once our fountains are gushing and overflowing with fluids, we can come into touch as a group ~ connecting from a place of fullness.

	💦 sprouting pleasures
a 4-days sexual empowerment retreat, supporting queers in getting to know themselves better ~ love their physical & erotic body ~ respecting themselves tenderly & fiercely ~ connecting with emotions, boundaries, fantasies & desires. vulnerable sharing, theory, practical exercises, movement, dance, meditation, writing, sensuality, sexuality & collective body experimentation.

	🪭 rave intention circles
raves can be beautiful, transformative, community-building practices. they can also be overwhelming and challenging. through clear framing, rave intention circles can help us stay centered while moving through deep unknowns, and help us find out: what do i want to cultivate ~ individually, collectively?
(this is an open recipe. find the zine here.)
🦗 earthlovers ecosensual ritual forest walk. let’s slow down, come into love & compassion as earth, develop intimacy & touch with the more-than-human. sense earth as the fierce & nourishing lover that they are. feel ourselves as nature, and open up to sense beyond what we think we know. we create magic by imagining it. (inspired by annie sprinkle & beth stephen’s ecosex practices)

	🌾 consent workshops
inspired by dr. betty martin’s “wheel of consent”, this hands-on workshop offers a radical inquiry into the nature of giving and receiving, and introduces a practice whose goal is to help us get in touch with and communicate both desires & boundaries.

	👐 touch wish circle
you step into the center of a circle. around you, people are asking: what touch would you like us to gift you? who of us do you want to participate? we'll com e together to practice agency and consent, making space for curiosity, desire and pleasure.

	🌊 self-pleasure to group-pleasure

	💦 erotic massage worksop
we share tools for giving & receiving massage based on sexological bodywork methods, and communication tools to create a safe container for consent. consciously shifting awareness from rigidity to fluidity, we arrive in the present moment, exploring pleasure, play, joy and skin-to-skin connection.

🦗 sound & touchscapes we provide a sonic & haptic experience of your choosing. would you like to be a piece of clay in a ceramic studio sunbathing on a beautiful beach? a fish underwater? a snake in a snakepit? a dining table at the ritz? in a club toilet stall, just before closing?

as a workshop facilitator, i play at the intersection of sexuality, spirituality and identity and am fascinated by containers that allow us to melt into one ecstatic organism—while minding our differences in identity & baggage, delivering us back to our separate selves.
many of my workshops happen before or during electronic music events. the rave was the first portal i encountered to an embodied feeling of interconnectedness. it’s still an important part of my life. my work is about combining pieces of the portals i know—sex-positive culture, dance music, psychedelics & connection with earth—and accessiblizing them for my community. doing that, i hope to cultivate aliveness & connection, in ways that feel sustainable & safe-enough to be able to integrate in participants’ daily life.
i often co-facilitate with my friends at skinship.
